This out and back route is a training paddle, using tidal eddies to reach around the Tay Rail Bridge, and enjoy the ride on the way back.

Paddle South from Broughty Ferry beach to the Pile Lighthouse to cross the channel, then paddle West a further 7½km close to the shore as to avoid the current.
