Free car parking in the ~60 space car park in Lochearnhead (with public toilets).
Cross the road with your boat and walk 150 metres, over the gate into the old Water Ski Club compound - and launch.
Normally flat calm in the sheltered head of the Loch (Lochearnhead) and in a reasonable wind waves develop after only 500m paddling.

Finish in the slowly flowing and very calm Loch outflow just before the weir where there is a 3 or 4 car area to park.
Finish point identifiable from the Northbound "South Loch Earn Road" by passing the weir on your right and looking out for the unofficial layby.

Phone signal can be poor to non existant.
There are no rescue facilities on the Loch.
Best done in a westerly, and a strong westerly can develop waves well capable of filling the bucket if you let one go past you.
Great scenery on the way down the Loch.
Occasionally there's an Easterly and the course can be reversed.
